Wir möchten uns von Herzen bei Patrick Pho-Ngam Forstner bedanken – besser bekannt als Mr. Global Thailand 2024 – für seinen Besuch bei Volunt2Thai.

Patrick ist weit mehr als nur ein Titelträger. Als Nationalspieler der thailändischen Eishockeymannschaft, international erfahren in Ländern wie Österreich und Kanada, verkörpert er Disziplin, Einsatz und Durchhaltevermögen. Sein Erfolg – unter anderem als Weltmeister 2024 in der Division III Gruppe A – zeigt, was möglich ist, wenn man an sich glaubt und konsequent seinen Weg geht.

Alf Poier Visits Volunt2Thai – A Meaningful Encounter

It was a special moment for our project: Alf Poier, known for his appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest, visited Volunt2Thai.

His visit was more than just a stop along the way. He brought curiosity, openness, and a genuine interest in what we do—qualities that are invaluable in our daily work. People like him have the ability to build bridges: between cultures, between different realities of life, and between individuals who might otherwise never meet.

Sometimes, it’s the small things that make a big difference…

Paul & Phoenix from the USA are currently volunteering with us and staying for a couple of weeks here at the Volunt2Thai campus. During their time with us, they quickly saw what daily life looks like: wide open spaces, many trees, tropical weather—and plenty of leaves and dust, especially during the dry season after strong winds or rain.

Wanting to help in a practical way, they surprised us with a thoughtful gift: an electric blower. 🙏🇺🇸

Since then, our daily routine has changed. What used to take a lot of time and effort is now easier, faster—and even quieter. Together with the children and our volunteers, we keep the campus clean, take care of our outdoor gym, and make sure this place remains welcoming for everyone. And yes—it’s even fun. 😊

This simple gesture reflects what Volunt2Thai is all about:
People come as guests to a Thai village, learn from the locals, and support children in the village and local schools.

Everyone brings something—time, skills, energy, or simply an open heart.

Whether it’s sports, yoga, teaching, music, working with nature, or even cooking with fresh ingredients from the garden—something real is created here: connection, exchange, and shared experience.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life—recent graduates, teachers, families, retirees—and they leave with memories that last a lifetime.

Even before our arrival, communication with Raimund was quick and uncomplicated. Throughout our entire stay, it was very important to him that we felt comfortable. He was always approachable and present. Through the close connection with him and his children, we quickly felt like part of a big family ourselves. Mutual support in everyday (family) life, shared excursions, playing games (board games we brought, basketball, football, boxing), cooking, eating, and spending evenings together made us feel welcome, safe, and at home. Even shared cleaning and tidying activities strengthened the sense of community.

There is always something to do on campus, but there is also space to retreat and enjoy some personal time. “Me-time” definitely doesn’t get lost. There are also many sweet and cuddly cats on campus – a special joy for children.

The year 2025 marks a record in renovation and beautification efforts – both on our campus and in the schools.

Through these ongoing projects, we are creating a welcoming environment where children can learn, play, and enjoy sports. At the same time, we focus on weather resilience, cleanliness, and protection from environmental influences – especially during the rainy season.
