Thai-Studenten erhalten Chance auf Freiwilligendienst in Österreich

Im Jahr 2025 werden in Zusammenarbeit mit Biogena und dem IKUNA Naturresort, Studenten der Phen Pittayakhom School in Thailand die einzigartige Möglichkeit erhalten, nach Österreich zu reisen und dort an einem Freiwilligendienst oder Praktikum teilzunehmen. Dieses besondere Projekt wird von Biogena, dem IKUNA Naturresort, FS Consulting und Volunt2Thai gemeinsam organisiert.

Volunt2Thai übernimmt dabei die kulturelle und sprachliche Vorbereitung der Schüler, um ihnen den Start in Österreich zu erleichtern. Intensiver Deutschunterricht sowie eine Einführung in die österreichische Kultur und Arbeitswelt sind Kernbestandteile des Programms. Darüber hinaus bieten Freiwillige aus Österreich und Deutschland ihre Unterstützung an, um den Teilnehmern den Einstieg zu erleichtern.

IKUNA - Naturresort: Ein außergewöhnlicher Ort für die ganze Familie... inmitten einer inspirierenden Naturlandschaft zwischen Donau und Inn. Auf über 200.000 m² findet man hier in idyllischer Natur pures Abenteuer, einzigartige Erlebnisse & erholsame Stunden im Naturerlebnispark. Exchange Program 2025: Thai Students to Participate in Volunteer Service and Internships in Austria

In 2025, in collaboration with Biogena and the IKUNA Nature Resort, students from the Phen Pittayakhom School in Thailand will have the unique opportunity to travel to Austria and take part in a volunteer service / internship. This special project is jointly organized by Biogena, IKUNA Nature Resort, FS Consulting, and Volunt2Thai.

Volunt2Thai will be responsible for the students' cultural and linguistic preparation, ensuring a smooth start in Austria. The program includes intensive German language classes and an introduction to Austrian culture and the working environment. Additionally, volunteers from Austria and Germany will offer their support to help the participants settle in.

FS Consulting will handle the visa application process at the Austrian Embassy in Bangkok, ensuring that the first group can begin their journey as early as spring 2025. This program marks a significant step in promoting intercultural understanding and provides young talents from Thailand with the opportunity to gain valuable professional and cultural experiences in a new environment.

We are excited to accompany the students on this exciting journey and to bring this forward-thinking project to life!

Baking Workshop at Volunt2Thai Campus with Phen Pittayakhom School

Baking bread is still a specialized skill in Thailand and our bakery workshop is a great way to train students for their career direction and future. It is a taster apprenticeship, as we say, where students can learn a variety of skills that are valuable in many different industries.

We would add that baking is a great way to teach students about science and math. For example, students learn about the chemical reactions that take place when different ingredients are mixed together. They also learn the importance of accurate measurements when following a recipe.

In addition, baking can be a fun and rewarding experience for students. When they see that their creations turned out well, it can boost their confidence and give them a sense of accomplishment.

It is a nice thing that the Volunt2Thai baking workshop can be offered to students from schools in our area. It is a great way for students to learn baking as a new experience and skill. We are sure that the students who participate in this, and future workshops will benefit greatly.

My time and impressions about Volunt2Thai,

First arrived at the airport in Udon Thani, I was met and picked up by Raimund and his wife Lili. We drove together by car towards the camp... The drive took about 1 hour. Udon Thani city is quite busy, the longer we were on the road towards the camp the less civilization was also to see.

The camp of. Volunt2Thai is very remote and the next smaller town is Amphoe Phen and is about 20 minutes’ drive away. I was lucky and was allowed to have the largest room, with the most beautiful view...

The camp is located in the middle of the beautiful nature in the green...and in my time surrounded by many rice fields. When I woke up in the morning and came out of the room, I just saw pure nature and heard the sound of nature...birds, crickets, etc. Since I live in Switzerland rather close to the city with a lot of traffic and chaos, I just enjoyed this nature and tranquility.

However, not everything is so "nice" when you live here in the middle of nature...because nature lives here really and literally together with you... You may share the shower as well as the kitchen with the animals such as geckos, mosquitoes and also spiders :)

At first it is a bit unusual, but eyes closed and through! You find a way to share everything together ... you must not forget that it is here on the camp in contrast to the housing situation of the local residents almost again luxury! Yes, the locals live for years so and with even worse conditions!

Apart from that, you also learn to appreciate the luxury in Europe / Switzerland much more!!! Because for many people it is normality, as it is here in Amphoe Phen!

My project "Baking pizza with the children" was a great experience that I and certainly the children will never forget! Together with Joseph a good friend of Raimund, we sat down and wrote down all the preparations, like shopping list and to-do lists. Together with Lilli we went to Udon Thani early in the morning and bought everything on the huge vegetable market and in the shopping center.

I found it very exciting and interesting to really experience the culture here, including what the caterers buy! The day after, we all cooked fresh tomato sauce together, cut all the toppings for the pizza as well as made the fresh pizza dough, of course everything fresh and prepared by hand!

140 children from Ban Khon and Riab School and Ban Nong Kung School we were able to make happy with pizza baking spread over 4 days. I, all of us were very happy with the project and everyone learned something and made this time an unforgettable moment and experience :)

Many of the children have never eaten pizza before, especially never baked pizza... Some of them didn't even know what pizza is or how to eat it. The best moment was when many children decided to take some of the pizza home to share with their families.

I have put together a video of the project for anyone who would like to learn a little more about it. It can also be found on the Volunt2Thai Facebook page and on YouTube... Aside from the project, I helped out a bit at the food forest.

This consists of lots of great and different plants, like bananas, coconuts, mangos, moringas, figs, chestnuts and much more! The plants are currently still small / young but soon and with a little patience, work and time you will be able to harvest many great fruits / vegetables and eat and enjoy!

I also visited several schools and gave a few hours of English lessons for the children with Raimund, and also made a flower arrangement with the children for the Loi Krathong festival. A flower arrangement made of banana leaves and many great flowers, then candles and incense sticks are added and in the evening placed in a pond and one may make a wish with it.

This was of course also a great experience as well as again a culture shock, because also the schools as the whole lifestyle are of course in very bad condition. As a European/Swiss, you are not used to such conditions and it affects you very much when you think about how these children and people have to live here. It is good that Volunt2Thai exists, a project that makes life easier for at least some children and gives them a perspective for the future...

I wish Volunt2Thai only the best and that it can hopefully grow more and more and still exists for many, many years to support all these children and to help them!!!! Thanks to Raimund and the whole family for this deep experience, which has shaped me and my character in positive senses and I will always carry in my heart!

Meine Zeit und Eindrücke über Volunt2Thai,

Erstmals angekommen am Flughafen in Udon Thani, wurde ich von Raimund und seiner Frau Lili empfangen und abgeholt. Wir fuhren gemeinsam mit dem Auto Richtung Camp… Die Fahrt dauerte ca. 1 Stunde. Udon Thani Stadt ist ziemlich belebt, desto länger wir unterwegs Richtung Camp waren umso weniger Zivilisation war auch zu sehen.

Das Camp von. Volunt2thai ist sehr abgelegen und das nächste kleinere Städtchen ist Phen und liegt ca. 20 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Ich hatte Glück und durfte das größte Zimmer haben, mit der auch schönsten Aussicht…

Das Camp liegt mitten in der wunderschönen Natur im Grünen…und zu meiner Zeit umgeben von ganz viele Reisfelder. Wenn ich morgens wach wurde und aus dem Zimmer kam, sah ich einfach nur Natur pur und hörte den Klang der Natur…Vögel, Grillen etc. Da ich in der Schweiz eher in der Stadtnähe lebe mit viel Verkehr und Chaos habe ich diese Natur und die Ruhe einfach nur genossen.

Jedoch ist nicht alles so „schön“ wenn man hier mitten in der Natur lebt…denn die Natur lebt hier wirklich und Wortwörtlich mit einem zusammen… Man darf die Dusche sowie die Küche mit den Tieren wie z. Bsp. Geckos, Mücken und auch Spinnen teilen :)

Anfangs ist es etwas ungewohnt, aber Augen zu und durch! Man findet einen Weg um sich alles gemeinsam zu teilen…man darf nicht vergessen, dass es hier auf dem Camp im Gegensatz zur Wohnsituation der einheimischen Bewohner schon fast wieder Luxus ist! Ja die Einheimischen Leben seit Jahren so und das mit noch viel schlimmeren Zuständen!

Abgesehen davon, lernt man auch den Luxus in Europa/ Schweiz viel mehr schätzen!!! Denn für viele Menschen ist es Normalität, wie es hier in Amphoe Phen ist!

Mein Projekt „Pizza backen mit den Kindern“ war eine tolle Erfahrung die ich und bestimmt auch die Kinder nie vergessen werden! Zusammen mit Joseph ein guter Freund von Raimund, haben wir uns zusammengesetzt und alle Vorbereitungen, wie Einkaufsliste und To-Do-Listen geschrieben. Mit Lilli sind wir dann früh morgens nach Udon Thani gefahren und haben auf dem riesigen Gemüsemarkt und im Einkaufscenter alles eingekauft.

Ich fand es sehr spannend und interessant, hier wirklich auch die Kultur zu erleben, auch was die Einkäufe der Gastronomen angeht! Am Tag danach haben wir alle zusammen frische Tomatensauce gekocht, alle Toppings für die Pizza geschnitten sowie den frischen Pizza-Teig gemacht, natürlich alles frisch und von Hand zubereitet!

140 Kinder der Ban Khon und Riab-Schule und der Ban Nong Kung Schule durften wir auf 4 Tagen verteilt mit Pizza-backen glücklich machen. Ich, wir alle waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Projekt und alle haben etwas dazu gelernt und diese Zeit zu einem unvergesslichen Moment und Erfahrung gemacht :)

Viel Kinder haben vorher noch nie Pizza gegessenen, erst recht auch nie Pizza gebacken… Sie wussten Teilweise gar nicht was Pizza überhaupt ist oder wie man sie isst. Der schönste Moment war, als sich viele Kinder dazu entschieden haben, einen Teil der Pizza nach Hause zu nehmen um diese mit der Familie zu teilen.

Ich habe ein Video des Projektes zusammengestellt, für alle die etwas mehr darüber erfahren möchten. Es ist auch auf der Volunt2thai Facebookseite und auf YouTube zu finden… Abgesehen von dem Projekt, habe ich ein bisschen auf dem Food-Forest ausgeholfen.

Dieser besteht aus ganz vielen tollen und verschieden Pflanzen, wie Bananen, Kokos, Mangos, Moringas, Feigen, Maroni und vieles mehr! Die Pflanzen sind zurzeit noch klein/jung aber bald und mit etwas Geduld, Arbeit und Zeit wird man ganz viele Tolle Früchte/Gemüse ernten können sowie essen und genießen!

Ich habe auch verschiedene Schulen besichtigt und mit Raimund ein paar Stunden Englisch Unterricht für die Kinder gegeben, sowie auch ein Blumengesteck mit den Kindern für das Loi Krathong Fest gemacht. Ein Gesteck aus Bananenblätter und vielen tollen Blumen, dann werden Kerzen und Räucherstäbchen dazugegeben und abends in ein Gewässer gelegt und man darf sich damit etwas Wünschen.

Das war natürlich auch eine tolle Erfahrung sowie auch wieder einen Kulturschock, da auch die Schulen wie der ganze Lebensstil natürlich in sehr schlechtem Zustand sind. Als Europäer/Schweizer ist man sich solche Zustände nicht gewohnt und es nimmt einem doch sehr mit, wenn man bedenkt wir diese Kinder und Menschen hier leben müssen. Gut das es Volunt2Thai gibt, ein Projekt, dass wenigstens einigen Kinder das Leben hier einfacher macht und eine Perspektive für die Zukunft gibt…

Ich wünsche Volunt2Thai nur das Beste und dass es hoffentlich immer mehr wachsen kann und noch ganz viele, viele Jahre besteht um all diese Kinder weiter zu unterstützen und ihnen zu helfen!!! Danke an Raimund und der ganzen Familie für diese tiefe Erfahrung, die mich und meinen Charakter in positiven Sinnen geprägt hat und ich immer im Herzen tragen werde!

The "Food Forest" Project takes shape ...

Thanks to a generous donation we were able to buy more trees today. They are half-grown trees which can already develop fruits. Soon we will put the trees in the ground. In the next few days we expect support from friends who have offered their help. Thank you very much to all friends and supporters of Volunt2Thai. Thank you for supporting this project with your donation, it will bring knowledge and joy to the future generations.

November 2021 - V2T / Uniraid Club House Café now open

We are very happy to announce the successful completion of the cooperation project between Uniraid UniLaSalle France and Volunt2Thai Austria. The end of construction and the opening took place on October 26, 2021, the start of construction was in May 2020. It is great that the children and young people accept the offer and come to learn and practice English 🙏😊❤

A wonderful cooperation has developed between Uniraid - Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle and Volunt2Thai and we are looking forward to the projects in the coming years. We thank the team of UniRaid from Unilasalle, and we THANK Dr. Otto Zeitlberger, we are you and unspeakably grateful for making this possible together.

The installation area of the upper covered terrace is 8 x 8 meters at a height of about 4 meters. All around, 3 mature trees were planted in a triangle. In front of it, an all-purpose stage, 6x6 meters with stairs was built to be able to hold various events. Gravel was scattered around the facility and a garden was also planted. Later, more seating will be placed to invite people to linger.

A cool and very beautiful place to relax has been created, a place of exchange has been created. There is also a service, there are pizza, various snacks, milkshakes and smoothies to pamper visitors and guests.

Construction of a Forest Canopy Walk

We are very happy about the cooperation between UniRaid - Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle (France) and Volunt2Thai. In cooperation an elevated nature trail with "tree house" will be installed. The project budget is provided by actions of the students of UniLaSalle. The students of UniLaSalle carry out fundraising activities throughout the year (e.g. daily sandwich sales and food sales at school events).

The installation space is 30 x 30 meters.

3 fully grown evergreen trees, (12 meters +) are planted in a triangle. A walkway connected to the trees in the shape of a three-pointed star is to run along at a height of 250 cm. A nature path will be built between the trees with a "floating" pergola. The trees themselves will not be touched or damaged but will be supported by a steel structure which will also support the "bridge".

There will be stairs or ladders as an ascent to the walkway. In the middle of the sidewalk there will be a raised pergola. As in a museum, natural cycles will be explained (pictures on the ceiling). In the middle, where the pergola is additionally supported on the root or tree trunk, a permaculture garden will be created as a further project, which will be irrigated by an irrigation system under the floating pavement. Gravel will be scattered around the plant. Later on there will be sitting places provided which invite visitors to rest.

At this natural place you can observe the life in the trees (it will be full of life for sure !!) Birdhouses can be installed. The treetops can be further cultivated (parasitic plants). A will be a cool and very beautiful place to relax, a natural public park and place of exchange will be created to the already existing structures.

It will also be a natural playground for children, a "monkey house" to let off steam with climbing facilities such as rope rings, ladders and swings,

a "child heaven"
