Sometimes, it’s the small things that make a big difference…


Paul & Phoenix from the USA are currently volunteering with us and staying for a couple of weeks here at the Volunt2Thai campus. During their time with us, they quickly saw what daily life looks like: wide open spaces, many trees, tropical weather—and plenty of leaves and dust, especially during the dry season after strong winds or rain.


Wanting to help in a practical way, they surprised us with a thoughtful gift: an electric blower. 🙏🇺🇸

Since then, our daily routine has changed. What used to take a lot of time and effort is now easier, faster—and even quieter. Together with the children and our volunteers, we keep the campus clean, take care of our outdoor gym, and make sure this place remains welcoming for everyone. And yes—it’s even fun. 😊


This simple gesture reflects what Volunt2Thai is all about:
People come as guests to a Thai village, learn from the locals, and support children in the village and local schools.

Everyone brings something—time, skills, energy, or simply an open heart.

Whether it’s sports, yoga, teaching, music, working with nature, or even cooking with fresh ingredients from the garden—something real is created here: connection, exchange, and shared experience.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life—recent graduates, teachers, families, retirees—and they leave with memories that last a lifetime.

Volunt2Thai – An Absolute Recommendation for Families!

Before we became part of the Volunt2Thai project for one month in January 2026, we had spent many years traveling through Thailand with our backpacks – and more recently with our two children (5 and 7 years old). We always believed we knew this country, its people, and its culture very well. But it was only after our time with Raimund, the founder of Volunt2Thai, and his family that we truly did.

Volunt2Thai offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and rural life of the “real” Thailand. For us as a family, participating in this project has been the most valuable and enriching experience we have ever had.

Even before our arrival, communication with Raimund was quick and uncomplicated. Throughout our entire stay, it was very important to him that we felt comfortable. He was always approachable and present. Through the close connection with him and his children, we quickly felt like part of a big family ourselves. Mutual support in everyday (family) life, shared excursions, playing games (board games we brought, basketball, football, boxing), cooking, eating, and spending evenings together made us feel welcome, safe, and at home. Even shared cleaning and tidying activities strengthened the sense of community.

There is always something to do on campus, but there is also space to retreat and enjoy some personal time. “Me-time” definitely doesn’t get lost. There are also many sweet and cuddly cats on campus – a special joy for children.

The time spent in the different schools, which Raimund visits daily with the volunteers, quickly became part of our routine. Teaching English brought joy both to us and to the students. In coordination with the local teachers and Raimund, it is always possible to design lessons in different ways. In addition to traditional classroom teaching, we played many games and worked in small groups for conversation training. Anyone bringing creative and educational ideas is welcome to put them into practice.

Our children were easily integrated into daily school life and were welcomed with great openness by the students. Both sides benefited enormously from this exchange.

**Volunt2Thai Project – Volunteer to Thailand อาสาสมัครประเทศไทย** ein wichtiges Bauprojekt umgesetzt werden.

Durch ihre Spendenaktion und das Engagement aller Beteiligten wurden Spenden gesammelt**, mit denen die **Fenster im Musikraum erneuert** werden konnten. Der Raum ist nun besser vor Witterungseinflüssen geschützt , speziell in der Regenzeit und bietet den Kindern eine deutlich angenehmere Umgebung zum Musizieren, Lernen und Zusammensein.

Otto the Long-Distance Walker was on the road again!
A heartfelt thank you for his generous donation to benefit the children.

Background: Every year in Isan, tragic accidents occur because many children cannot swim.
in 2025, Otto donated 31,000 Baht to Ban Kon Liab School. The funds will be used to build a small swimming area where the children can receive swimming lessons.

As a special surprise, Otto brought the children KFC meals – an experience that brought them great joy.
Volunt2Thai sincerely thanked our long-time friend and supporter Dr. Otto Zeitlberger, who once again had embarked on a long-distance hike – from Bangkok to the Volunt2Thai Campus! For every kilometer walked, Otto had collected donations in support of the schools in the project area.

🇬🇧 2025 Review below ....
🇩🇪 Rückblick 2025 – Danke von Herzen ✨🙏

2025 war ein Jahr voller Engagement, Begegnungen und echter Veränderungen. Gemeinsam konnten wir hunderte Stunden Englisch- und Allgemeinbildungsunterricht umsetzen – rund 650 Kinder haben 2025 davon profitiert 📚✨. Für viele war es das erste Mal überhaupt, dass sie mit einer nicht-thailändischen, englischsprachigen Person in Kontakt kamen.

Viele Schulen in unserer Region haben zu wenig Lehrpersonal, oft fehlen Englischlehrer komplett, Budgets sind knapp und manchmal ist nicht einmal das tägliche Essen für die Kinder gesichert 🍚💔. Umso wertvoller war die Unterstützung, die wir gemeinsam leisten konnten.

Ein großes Dankeschön an alle Familien, Gruppen, Freiwilligen, Spender, Unterstützer und Freunde ❤️🙏. Danke für eure Zeit, eure Energie, euer Vertrauen und eure Verbundenheit – ihr habt echte Veränderungen möglich gemacht.

Auch infrastrukturell ist viel passiert 🛠️🌱: Gebäude wurden renoviert, Sanitäranlagen erweitert, Dächer erneuert, Hochwasserschutz umgesetzt und unser Food Forest laufend instand gehalten. Als besonderes Highlight konnte eine Multimedia-Ausstattung für die Kinder im Clubhaus realisiert werden 🎥💻.

Für die Schulen und Kinder wurden ein Spielplatz an der Ban Nong Kung Schule gebaut 🛝, ein Schwimmübungsplatz an der Ban Kon Liab Schule ist finanziert und in Planung 🏊‍♀️, außerdem konnten 120 Fußbälle ⚽, Sportmaterial sowie Schul- und Schreibmaterial verteilt werden. Ein gemeinsames Weihnachtsessen sorgte zum Jahresende für viele strahlende Kinderaugen 🎄✨.

Auch die Kooperation mit der Deutschen Schule Lengerich/Tecklenburg war erfolgreich 🤝📘. Und ein besonderes Highlight zum Jahresende: Nickis Boxkampf – Respekt und Bravo an diesen mutigen jungen Mann 🥊👏.

Es ist unglaublich, wie viel 2025 möglich war – und wir sind sicher, wir haben bestimmt auch etwas vergessen zu erwähnen. Es war einfach sehr viel 💛.

Danke an euch alle, die unsere Arbeit für kommende Generationen unterstützen. Wir wünschen euch Liebe, Freude und Gesundheit 💫.

🇬🇧 2025 Review – Thank You from the Bottom of Our Hearts ✨🙏

2025 was a year full of commitment, meaningful encounters and real impact. Together, we delivered hundreds of hours of English and general education classes, reaching around 650 children 📚✨. For many of them, it was the very first time meeting a non-Thai, English-speaking person.

Many schools in our region face serious staff shortages. English teachers are often missing completely, budgets are very limited, and in some cases even daily meals for children are not guaranteed 🍚💔. That’s why the support we achieved together was so incredibly valuable.

A heartfelt thank you to all families, groups, volunteers, donors, supporters and friends ❤️🙏. Thank you for your time, energy, trust and commitment – you made real change possible.

Beyond education, a lot happened on an infrastructure level 🛠️🌱: buildings were renovated, sanitary facilities expanded, roofs renewed, flood protection improved and our Food Forest continuously maintained. A special highlight was the realization of a multimedia setup for the children’s clubhouse 🎥💻.

Important projects were also implemented for the schools and children: a playground at Ban Nong Kung School 🛝, a swimming practice area at Ban Kon Liab School (funded and currently in planning) 🏊‍♂️, plus the distribution of 120 footballs ⚽, sports equipment and school supplies. A shared Christmas meal brought many smiling faces at the end of the year 🎄✨.

Our cooperation with the German School Lengerich/Tecklenburg was successfully completed 🤝📘. Another highlight before the end of the year was Nicki’s boxing match – respect and applause for this brave young man 🥊👏.

So much happened in 2025 – and we’re sure we may have forgotten to mention something. It was simply a lot, in the best possible way 💛.

The **Christmas Lunch 2025** for around **180 children** from **Ban Nong Kung School, Ban Kon Liab School, and Ban Don Sri Samran School** was an incredible success. Smiling faces everywhere, great joy, games, and most importantly **delicious food**, allowing all the children to eat until they were completely full. ❤️

We would like to thank all the kind people and friends from the bottom of our hearts who supported this **annual Christmas event** once again this year. **Thank you so much!**
In addition, we were able to hand over **school supplies to the schools**, which will certainly be sufficient **for this semester**.

Our dear **Daniel** cooked **spaghetti for the children** – for many of them, it was the **first time in their lives** eating spaghetti 🍝😊. The children also put a lot of effort into preparing a **lovely stage performance**, which was a joy to watch.

As a special highlight, there were also **100 Thai grilled fish (Pla Pao – ปลาเผา)** 🐟🔥. The children truly enjoyed it and happily ate until they were full.
A big thank you as well to **Greg and his wife**, who generously provided **vegetables and herbs** for the children 🌱🥬.
**Sebastian, Arj, Josef and Julia** worked tirelessly at the **food distribution**, ensuring the large number of children were served smoothly and that everyone received food. 💪❤️

In short: **everything was a great success**, and we were able to give the children a **beautiful and unforgettable day**. ✨

As every year, Volunt2Thai will once again organize a joyful **Christmas Lunch for around 180 children** from Ban Nong Kung School, Ban Kon Liab School, and Ban Don Sri Samran School.
**Date:** 19 December 2025
**Location:** Ban Nong Kung School
We will cook and serve a delicious festive meal for the children. The school will be decorated for the occasion, and the children can enjoy as much food as they like. There will be **music, singing, and small gifts** to bring smiles and laughter to everyone.
Many of the children have very little. They are in need of **school supplies for the coming year**, and for many of them, the **school lunch is the most important meal of the day**.

Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that the school runs out of food during the year — in such cases, **Volunt2Thai helps by providing rice and groceries** to make sure the children don’t go hungry.
We’ll meet at **7:00 a.m. at the Volunt2Thai Campus** to start preparing the food together.
Please bring **small gifts, cookies, drinks, school supplies, or sports equipment such as footballs and volleyballs** – every contribution helps make this a magical day!
Anyone who would like to help is warmly invited to actively participate. Let’s join hands to make this a wonderful end-of-year celebration.

But with around 650 children across eleven schools, our goal is to collect 100 balls, ensuring every child has the chance to play, learn, and enjoy sports.

In Isan, northeastern Thailand, most children have very little. Schools often operate on extremely small budgets and can only afford the bare essentials. Many students urgently need school supplies for the coming year, and for some, the school meal is the most important — and sometimes insufficient — meal of the day.
With your help, we can provide these children with sports equipment, school materials, and nutritious meals. Every donation, no matter the size, brings joy, hope, and better opportunities for their future.
